The focus of Michele’s paintings has always been to create mood and emotion through the use of light and shadow. Her work spans from urban scenes to the suburban, seaside and rural. Locked down during the pandemic, she focused on the unexpected beauty of her Billerica neighborhood. Her still life paintings often have a story behind the subject matter. Sometimes this may simply be ordering take out after a busy day, or a study of a long-time marriage throughout many years. Regardless of the subject matter, the human presence will always be implied.
