The Whistler House Museum of Art will be OPENING SOON. We hope everyone has stayed safe and healthy, and hope to be seeing you all again real soon.

Meet the Whistler House Museum of Art's May Artist of the Month:
Nancy Lesofsky
A person of many talents and areas of knowledge, Nancy's steps into her creative art career began at nine years old, when her father, a talented artist himself, gifted her a large wooden box with the best brushes and paints he could find. Her mother was a dress designer and seamstress, expanding her education in art even further.
She began her training under the classical tutelage of Madame Thellen in Lowell, Massachusetts. Influenced by such artists as Michelangelo, Leonardo de Vinci, John Singer Sargeant, and her favorite, Gustav Klimt, she has created her own unique art style. Artistically talented from the beginning, her work was exhibited in the Whistler House Museum of Art at an early age.
Nancy sought to expand her craft to more forms of art and various art styles through the education of many other artists. She studied with renowned local artist Janet Lambert Moore, who has shown a lifetime of work at the Whistler House Museum of Art. Additionally, under the guidance of Beth Patterson, an award-winning contributor to national magazines and hardcover books, Nancy studied watercolor techniques. To expand her study of various mediums, she studied sculpting under the maestro and award-winning sculptor, Roneld Lores of Cuba, who also now resides in Lowell.
A motivational speaker and instructor, Nancy was assigned to serve on the Board of Directors for “Very Special Arts,” an organization established to benefit artists with physical and mental disabilities. In addition, she was also elected the President of “Renaissance Fine Arts”. Both of the organizations are located in Washington, DC. She also was invited to be the CEO of the New York City-based company “International Institute of Learning and Advancement.”
In addition to her career as an artist, Nancy has been an award-winning International Interior Designer for 54 years and was selected to the prestigious Boston Junior League designers. She was also recently honored with a bronze medal from the International French Order of Arts-Sciences-Lattres in Paris, France. In October of 1992, she appeared for an interview on Channel 7News with journalist Sara Edwards as one of the top female entrepreneurs in the country.
Nancy is a proud artist member of the Whistler House Museum of Art.
