Description: Inspired by the All Creatures Great and Small series of books by veterinary surgeon James Alfred Wight, under the pen name James Herriot, the upcoming Juried Members Exhibition celebrates the breadth of life in our world. From the fluttering butterflies of James McNeill Whistler to the grazing cows and sheep of William Preston Phelps, animals grace the walls of the Whistler House. In partnership with the Lowell Humane Society, the Whistler House Museum of Art invites artists to create works of art and scenes which include animals, birds, fish, and insects, both domestic and wild. Works in any medium will be considered, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, fiber art, and photography. Share with the world all the amazing creatures that influence and inspire us.
